Getting a NAF account¶

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The procedure in the following currently is being reworked, and might not work. If you see troubles, or do not get a reply within a couple of work days, please contact the NAF Helpdesk

The accounts for the NAF are normal DESY accounts. Several cases are possible, getting access to the NAF depends on your particular case.

Please consider special procedures of your experiment/VO first!

Do you currently have a valid DESY account (e.g. because you work at DESY)?¶

In order to fully utilize the NAF, your accounts needs additional rights and group memberships. Ask your group administrator for the resource batch and the membership in af-NNN (NNN being your experiment)

Did you once had a valid DESY account, but it has expired (e.g. because you were summer student at DESY)?¶

We know you as a person. Get in contact with your experiment support and have them reactive your account. You will get the resource batch and the primary membership in af-NNN automatically

You already have/had an account in experiment X, and now moved/joined experiment Y?¶

Get in contact with the supporter of experiment Y on how to proceed. Usually, you will get additional permissions for the new experiment.

You never had an account at DESY?¶

Contact your experiment representatives e.g. via email naf-NNN-support@desy.de ... ask for an NAF account from your institutional email account. You will receive an invitation link to create a complete formal request. - NNN stands for atlas, cms, ilc - belle see below - if unsure, or a different VO, write to naf - helpdesk @ desy . de (email adress without the spaces)
